Junior Bake Off star delights Britain’s Got Talent judges with musical performance
One talented junior baker proved that he had more than just baking skills on Saturday night’s Britain’s Got Talent, when he took to the stage as part of singing and dancing group BoyCanto, a performance group hoping to encourage more boys into singing, dancing and acting.
As the group took to the stage, fans at home were quick to notice one familiar face among them, a youngster by the name of Harrison, who took part in the junior edition of the Great British Bake Off earlier this year.
Although he didn’t win the baking show, he did appear to have far more success with his performance as part of BoyCanto, as the talented stars managed to secure a whopping four yes votes from the judging panel.
Fans at home were quick to notice the youngster looked familiar and even shared the news on social media to the delight of their fellow fans.
“I actually just spotted a familiar face. Harrison!! Harrison was on Junior Bake Off back in January,” wrote one fan.
A second viewer also spotted the youngster, and wrote: “This Harrison kid was on Junior Bake-off.”
Before a third added: “I knew I recognised him! That’s Harrison from Bake Off!”
The act itself earned plenty of praise from fans too, with one delighted viewer even gushing: “ YES BOYCANTO!!!! That was revoltingly brilliant!!! Seems like that stereotype of boys performing and sadly being bullied for it is still going on in schools, Keep going cos you're full of talent and inspire more.”
They weren’t the only act to receive the approval from the judges on Saturday, as young talent appeared to dominate the competition as several other acts featuring children received a clean sweep of yes votes.
Among them was Banji’s class, another song and dance troupe who performed their very own original song and dance number in celebration of the new King – the perfect act to showcase on his special Coronation day.
In addition, the episode also featured a performance by another dance group United 2 Dance, who offered sanctuary and support to a fleeing young Ukrainian after the war broke out in his home country last year.
In heartwarming scenes, Bruno Toniloi personally invited the group to audition after posing as a waxwork to surprise them during a field trip to Madame Tussauds.
