Keith Lemon says Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood’s ‘has the worst feet I’ve seen’

From booze cruising with Amanda Holden to buying pool floaties with Katie Price, Keith Lemon has bonded with a long list of celebs while running ridiculous errands on his ITV2 Shopping show. However, he got to know Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood a little too well in the shoe department while filming series 4.

“I was recently in Blackpool with Craig and I’ll be honest with you, I said this to his face. He had sandals on and he has feet like a fish finger sandwich,” Keith admits.

“He has the worst feet I’ve ever seen. It’s like his toes are trying to escape his feet.

“I think it’s apparently down to all the dancing that he’s done, but I would definitely use the word buckled on his toes. But we had a lovely time – we did a bit of karaoke and bought some phallic-shaped rock.”

The comedy character, who is the alter ego of Leigh Francis, is back on our screens for another series of Shopping With Keith Lemon – and this time, Keith has been commandeering trolleys up and down the country. “I went up to Newcastle to meet Chris and Rosie Ramsey and we did the big shop,” he says.

“I went shopping with Olly Murs for a new fridge, Denise Van Outen took me to a pie and mash shop and tomorrow I’m shopping with Joey Essex. I think we’re looking for a swing set for his nephew.”

As for who’s footing the bill, Keith whispers, “ITV pay but don’t tell anyone!” Although he admits that TikTok sensation and trainspotter Francis Bourgois is the first guest of the series to buy him a present. “What a wonderful gift it was, he bought me a Back To The Future Scalextric.”

It’s not all fun and games though as Keith learnt in his episode with Swedish pop star Zara Larsson. “The weirdest thing was that she has these cold baths. You get in a sauna, sweat and then quickly get into a cold bath until you get a headache in your penis.

“It’s kind of a popular thing but it’s horrendous. It’s horrible. They say, ‘You’ll feel great afterwards.’ Yeah – because I’m not in it anymore!” he laughs.

Zara’s wasn’t the only chilly episode; Love Island’s Iain Stirling took Keith round Iceland – although not before they’d sunk a few pints over a pub lunch.

“He went, ‘Do you want another beer?’ I said, ‘Don’t say that to me because I’ll just say yes.’ And then we had a couple of beers.

“I’m telling you when we were in there, we were a little bit tipsy. And that’s how we got into a deep conversation about ET,” Keith says. “He said if ET ame to his house, he would kill him. I said, ‘No you wouldn’t – look at his sweet eyes!’” It also explains how the pair left the shop with a Lewis Capaldi pizza and an air fryer.

Filming the new series of Shopping With Keith Lemon was bittersweet for the ITV2 star, who wrapped up Celebrity Juice in December after 14 years. “People say, ‘Do you miss Celebrity Juice?’ And I say, ‘Well, time hasn’t gone by yet.’

But normally I’d be filming Juice and Shopping at the same time – and I’d be excited about talking about Juice and seeing Holly [Willoughby] and Fearne [Cotton] or Emily [Atack] and Laura [Whitmore] in the more recent times,” he admits.

The Juice crew managed to reunite for Keith’s birthday however. “I just like the idea that we have some sort of reunion a year. I do miss seeing them,” he says.

“It is lovely when we meet up and I’ll hug Holly and I’ll go, ‘This hug has turned into a Davina McCall hug now.’ It’s always lovely to hug Davina McCall but she won’t let go of you.”

As for whether he’d bring back Celebrity Juice, Keith says it’s not up to him. “It’s only just finished, I don’t think [ITV are] going to bring it back yet. If they bring it back in five years time, I might be too old to do Celebrity Juice then. But I don’t think I’d turn it down because it was just so fun.”

For now, Keith is sticking to credit card swiping on Shopping – and taking part in a comedy tour alongside several other Leigh Francis characters. “It’s called My First Time. It has a Celebrity Juice-style element to it.

"If Boyzone were to do a ‘Best Of’ album, it’s kind of like that. Although there are no singers that are Irish involved,” he jokes. Keith adds that there’s also something in the works with his character Avid Merrion – however he “shouldn’t really speak about” it yet.

Instead, he’ll be turning his attention to securing his next guests on Shopping With Keith Lemon. Is there anyone he’d love to drag around John Lewis? “Kylie Minogue. I say Kylie Minogue for everything. Do you know what I’d like to do? A Kylie Minogue special that lasts three days long.

“I asked if she’d do Celebrity Juice and when I messaged her on Instagram, she replied. I can’t get over that most of the time. She said she’d think about it, which is showbiz for ‘no’, but just the fact that she’ll talk to me on a red carpet, I’m happy with that.”

Fingers crossed that Kylie’s feet aren’t as fishy as Craig Revel Horwood’s!
