Season five of The Crown will land on Netflix on November 9 and it is the first series to be released following the death of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II. Lady Victoria Hervey felt it was “too soon” to release the upcoming season as the monarch’s death “was only a month ago”. She shared her concerns about the drama on Friday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain.

“A lot of people see it as a documentary and they don’t see it as fiction,” Lady Victoria stressed.

“I think it is insensitive and I think it is a little too soon, the Queen’s death was only a month ago,” she added.

“We have the coronation [for King Charles III] coming up and everyone is accepting [Queen Consort] Camilla in her role right now and I think it is going to paint her in a negative light.”

She also claimed the upcoming season of the Netflix drama will be “exposing the most negative aspects” of life within the Royal Family.
