Loose Womens Nadia Sawalha breaks down in tears as she shares health diagnosis

Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha confided in her co-hosts and audience as she revealed she had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The 57-year-old had previously admitted she'd been struggling with severe menopause symptoms and feared she had early onset dementia.

In a pre-recorded segment for the talk show, Nadia spoke to her husband of 20 years Mark Adderley, and a professional called Rebecca who confirmed the diagnosis.

Nadia detailed some of her symptoms to Rebecca, saying: "I couldn't sit quietly without noise, I have to have something on to relax."

"If you scratch the surface there is total low self esteem but I do an amazing job of holding myself up", she continued.

Coming close to tears, Nadia confessed that she'd placed herself on a lifetime driving ban over fears that she'd lose concentration behind the wheel.

"Years ago I gave myself a lifetime ban on driving and the reason I give is, I lose consciousness, and everyone gets annoyed about this, saying I should pull myself together. But actually the thought that I could…" she revealed.

The mum of two was applauded for her film back in the studio and went on to testify that she'd also suffered from compulsive eating in the past.

Nadia told the panel: "The point is you are very high risk of addictive behaviour. It's not just silly people running around doing silly things."

Looking to the future, Nadia told her fellow panellists that she's started a course of medication for the disorder and one day hopes to return to driving.

Loose Women airs at 12.30pm on ITV
