EastEnders new Queen Vic owners exposed as Lindas future sealed in Mick exit

EastEnders' Mick Carter makes a shock proposal to Janine Butcher in The Queen Vic tonight – but is it actually ex-wife Linda that he wants?

Linda has been providing support to Mick following Janine's hospital visit, and many residents can see that their romance appears to be rekindling.

However, with Mick's exit due to air this Christmas, fans suspect that they have worked out who the new owners of The Queen Vic will be – and what the future has in store for Linda as her ex-husband prepares to say goodbye to the square.

As fans wait to see the story between the former lovers unfold, Daily Star takes a look at what the future has in store for Linda.

Linda and Sharon take over The Vic

There have been many iconic partnerships behind the bar of The Queen Vic – and fans are keen to see another duo pulling pints on the square too.

Viewers are loving the friendship between Linda and Sharon Watts, with some begging EastEnders bosses to make them the new owners of The Vic once Mick Carter leaves.

"Things I need from EastEnders: Sharon and Linda running the Vic together," said one fan, while a second added: "Linda and Sharon training for their landlady partnership next year."

"I need Sharon and Linda running the Vic permanently once Mick leaves," agreed a third.

A fourth commented: "Could totally see Linda and Sharon actually running The Vic together after Mick's shock upcoming exit. Absolute dream team or what seriously?"

However, other viewers have taken to social media to predict that Linda could run The Vic with Alfie Moon, after the pair developed a chemistry as soon as he arrived back on the square.

"So Linda could stay in the Vic with Shirley and/or Alfie. I would like that," said another fan.

"Somehow when Mick leaves, I can see Linda struggling running the Vic and she could sell either her share of The Vic to Alfie, or she gets The Vic and lets Alfie move in and run it?" agreed a sixth.

A seventh added: "I hope Alfie buys the pub and Linda helps him run it."

Car crash truth exposed

Fans will remember that Janine made out that Linda was drink driving behind the wheel of car earlier this year, leading Linda to nearly wind up in prison.

However, it was actually Janine who was driving – and viewers think that the truth about the car crash could finally be exposed at Christmas.

Taking to social media, one fan said: "Remember that photo Scarlett put in the Die Hard DVD case that incriminates Janine regarding Linda's crash…that's gotta be coming up no?"

"Janine winding up Linda. It'll all come crashing down at Christmas and she won't be bragging then," agreed a second.

Viewers think the truth will be exposed in time for the Christmas Day episode, with a third commenting: "I think this is the perfect time for Mick leaving, Linda possibly remembering what actually happened before the crash and Janine getting caught," adding: "The drama would be amazing."

"I hope Janine's comeuppance is the Christmas storyline this year. It's going to be so delicious when everyone realises she was the one driving the car, not Linda," said a fourth.

If the truth does come out, viewers also suspect that Janine may leave the square for good – but that daughter Scarlett will stay behind and be adopted by Linda.

One fan said: "Janine also mentioned about 'blended families' to Mick, which hints to me that Scarlett could stay with the Carters after Janine leaves. Scarlett looks up to Mick more than she does Janine. She also likes Linda as well."

"If Linda doesn't adopt Scarlett then hopefully Sonia will do it," added another.

Romance rekindled

It has become clear in recent episodes that Mick is still in love with ex-wife Linda, and many fans are predicting that they will rekindle their romance before Mick actor Danny Dyer leaves the soap this Christmas.

"If EE doesn't give us Mick and Linda having some sort of an affair before Mick leaves I am never forgiving them, just saying," begged one viewer.

"Open your eyes Mick. Linda is the love of your life," agreed a second.

Many fans are asking for Linda to be with Mick, with some noticing that Alfie gave Linda wise words of advice – and that even he can see that the former lovers were meant to be.

"Alfie spouting facts only! Mick and Linda are meant to be!" they said, while another added: "Mick letting Alfie go, working in the Vic just 'cause he's jealous of Alfie and Linda and their friendship."

However, other fans think Linda should let her romance with Alfie blossom, rather than returning to Mick.

"Not a popular opinion, but I like Mick and Janine. Linda and Mick had completely run their course and needed away from each other," one fan commented.

"I kinda like Linda and Alfie though," another added.

Linda is murdered by Janine

Fans suspect that Linda could become Janine's latest victim, especially if Mick leaves her for ex-wife Linda in upcoming episodes.

More so, if the truth about the car crash is exposed, will Linda have the chance to tell her loved ones?

Or will Janine continue to hide the truth by carrying out another villainous plan and murdering Linda?

Fans certainly seem to think so, with one saying: "As nice as Mick is, this ain't gonna last and Janine's gonna go all evil again and kill Linda. Which would probably be a good storyline but I like Linda."

"I'm surprised Janine hasn't bumped off both Mick and Linda yet and buried them six feet under the Queen Vic," agreed a second.

Linda leaves the square

If Linda is not murdered by Janine, viewers suspect that she could leave the square for good following Mick's exit from EastEnders.

Although Linda actress Kellie Bright opened up to Daily Star about the future of her character, some fans think that Linda's exit could be unannounced – and come as a plot twist in the soap.

"The whole storyline feels like they're building up to Mick and Linda reuniting. Why do that if Mick is leaving and she's not? I think she'll go with him in an unannounced exit," they said, with another adding: "I think she'll leave with Mick."

"I've been saying from when we heard that Danny [Dyer] was leaving that Kellie [Bright] would go too. I still think Mick and Linda will leave together. If Mick dies, then I think Linda will leave Walford to be near her children," agreed a third.

With Mick's tragic exit teased by soap bosses, other viewers think that Linda might leave Walford as she cannot bear to be without him.

"I think Linda should leave when Mick dies or goes missing, start a fresh with Annie and Ollie with Elaine," a third said.

A fourth commented: "Oh they're going to reunite, but I'm expecting Mick to die. Haven't they used the words 'tragic love story'?"

However, other viewers are not so sure, and think that Linda could stay on Albert Square for a long time yet.

"I don't think there is any real indication that Kellie is leaving. Danny finished filming a little while ago now and it seems like Kellie is still filming," they added.
