Queen Charlotte: A Bridgeton Story is a fictional take on the marriage between the eponymous monarch (played by India Amarteifio) and King George III (Corey Mylchreest).
The six-part series has proved to be a smash hit since it landed on Netflix recently.
The show serves as a prequel to the phenomenally successful Bridgerton series with plenty of romance and saucy moments for fans of the original drama to get their teeth stuck into.
Along with cast members from Bridgerton, including Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Hugh Sachs as Brimsley and James Fleet at the elder King George III, there are some new faces joining the fray,
Who plays Lord Danbury?
Actor and director Cyril Nri portrays the aged Lord Danbury in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the much older husband to the young Agatha Danbury (Arsena Thomas).
Nigerian-born British actor, 62, has had a lengthy career to dating back to the late 1980s.
Nri is perhaps best known for his role in The Bill as Superintendent Adam Okaro and also starred as Graham in the cult 1990s classic The Life.
He trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and went on to join The Royal Shakespeare Company.
The actor has appeared in productions of The Observer at the Royal National Theatre; Julius Caesar in Stratford upon Avon, London and New York; and Trouble in Mind also at the Royal National Theatre, among many other roles.
Among his most prominent television roles are The Cipher, Devils on Sky and Law & Order: UK.

In 2015, he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his performance in Russell T. Davies’ groundbreaking LBGT+ Channel 4 series Cucumber.
His film credits include The Witches, Julius Caesar, The Act and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Along with Queen Charlotte, Nri has appeared in an episode of Amazon Prime Video’s speculative drama The Power.
According to IMDb, he will next be starring in Just Passing and Cult-Movie, which is in post-production.
Actress Thomas addressed the dynamic between Lord and Lady Danbury, saying: “It is one that is of necessity. I think that is the greatest way to put it. It’s not one of violence or disrespect, but rather, a very picture perfect understanding of what a relationship between a man and a woman looked like during the Georgian time period.
“So, it’s a marriage to a man much older, her senior, one that she was groomed to marry from a very young age, and so Agatha has been living up to the idea of a woman for this man.”
