Love Island 2023 star Shaq hopes to meet his ‘future wife’ after two years of being single

Love Island 2023 star, Shaq Muhammad, has revealed he is ready to settle down and will hopefully meet his "future wife" in the ITV2 villa.

The airport security officer, 24, from London, is one of the Islanders appearing on the 2023 winter series of the hit ITV2 dating show.

And Shaq is now ready to "share his life" with someone special and hopes to meet "The One" in the villa.

Speaking to press, including OK! , ahead of Love Island starting on Monday 16th January, Shaq said: "I've had my two years of being single. I've had my fun and things like that. And now I'm ready to find someone and settle down with someone.

"Just share my life with [someone], you know where you just have that one person where you can tell if you're having a good day or a bad day or share exciting news with. So yeah, hopefully I find her in the villa."

Talking about his ideal partner, he added: "I don't have like a specific type, looks wise, but I go on personality qualities. Has to have a good sense of humour – smart, kind, really open, someone I can just really like have fun with.

"Sort of like my best friend as well as my partner. Good dress sense as well. I kind of go for personality qualities over everything. But those are the main things I look forward to, I like to banter and have fun a lot. So yeah, she's got to match me as well."

Speaking about being intimate on the show with a potential partner, Shaq said: "I have just got to bear in mind that my parents are watching and my family are watching, I'm not gonna rule anything out.

"I can't say what I'm going to do and what I'm not going to do but I'm just gonna take each day as it comes. But, yeah, gonna bear in mind that my family are watching but like I said, I wouldn't hold back from the show, I've just got to go for it and see what happens."

Talking about how his family have been and any potential pre-show warnings, Shaq said: "No, no pre-warnings! They've been really supportive of me.

"They've just said be yourself, don't change and if the right person is in there for you, you'll find her. Yeah, just have fun and don't take anything too seriously. Just enjoy it, enjoy the experience and it's a once in a lifetime experience."

Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 16th January on ITV2 and ITVX.
