Love Island erupts into chaos as Shaq slams Ron over his treatment of Lana
Love Island viewers were shocked during the final moments of Wednesday’s episode as Shaq Muhammad berated Ron Hall for his treatment of Lana Jenkins.
Lana, 25, and Ron, also 25, seemed to immediately hit it off in the first winter series of Love Island since the pandemic, with Maya Jama taking over the hosting duties from Laura Whitmore.
But in recent episodes, Ron’s head was seemingly turned by just about every bombshell to walk through the door, which he argued was part of the game.
The final nail in the relationship coffin came when estate agent Samie Elishi entered the villa and was very much Ron’s type because of her brunette hair.
All week, Lana was especially emotional about Ron and felt he was playing with her emotions, which the other girls also agreed with.
When the lads got to pick who to couple up with, resulting in Zara Lackenby-Brown’s dumping, Australian bombshell Aaron Waters chose Lana, and Kai Fagan chose Samie, which essentially left Ron on his lonesome as he was forced to couple up with good friend Tanyel Revan.
But Lana’s luck soon changed when two new male bombshells entered the South African villa, Recruitment Consultant Casey O’Gorman and Senior HR Advisor Jordan Odofin.
Casey chose Lana to go on a date with, which Ron was strangely okay with as he wanted Lana to see his decisions through his eyes.
While Casey and Lana were off flirting in the vineyard, Ron talked about the date, which seemed to frustrate Shaq.
“You haven’t bro, you haven’t said that once. I don’t agree with how you’ve treated her. I think what you say and what you do are two completely different things,” Shaq scathed after earlier giving the same brutal honesty to “exposed” footballer Tom Clare.
He continued: “You said that Lana is your number one priority but you’ve treated that girl, at any point, as anything but your priority.
“I have always treated her as my number one priority,” Ron hit back, to which Shaq responded, “You haven’t bro.”
TikTok farmer Will Young, who is very much loved up with Australia’s Jessie Wynter, then added: “It’s like you’re waiting for someone to come in that’s better than Lana.”
Shaq scathingly concluded: “You’re telling me that if Lana was attracted to two or three guys in here, at the same time you were going on dates, I would bet my life on it that you wouldn’t have moved the way you have moved cuz you know Lana has the potential to go with other boys.”
Shaq's actions were received well by fans online, with one person taking to Twitter to write: “A lot of you boys/men needs friends like Shaq that will put you in your place when you don’t know how fi treat women, it’s actually getting out of hand now.”
“Shaq is absolute top tier green flag energy. Open communication, emotional intelligence and willingness to take accountability. All things that most men don't possess,” another person wrote.
“Shaq appreciation tweet, an actual gem,” added a third, as a fourth said, “Shaq appreciation tweet, an actual gem.”
