Love Island fans accuse Tasha of copying Luke Ts girlfriend proposal to Siânnise

Thursday 14 July's episode of Love Island saw Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page finally make things official and become boyfriend and girlfriend.

The couple had been together since day one of series eight (despite a slight hiccup) so the fact their "proposal" was very extravagant isn't a surprise considering they had the whole show to think about it.

However, some fans are suggesting it wasn't an original idea at all and they actually copied series six's Luke Trotman and Siânnise Fudge, who sadly split up in early 2022.

Tasha was the one to orchestrate her proposal to Andrew with a long drawn out proposal which saw her soon to be boyfriend trance around the villa on a scavenger hunt.

Clues such as "the first place we kissed" eventually led him to the fire pit where Tasha asked the all important question.

The Islanders and many fans at home were chuffed for the couple but some suggested they'd seen something similar before.

In 2020, Luke gathered the boys to help him create the fairy tale-themed surprise for Siânnise.

It saw the boys use every ounce of their creativity as they made Siânnise a princess's crown which was covered in sequins.

Meanwhile, the girls played their part by keeping Siânnise busy with a pamper session.

With everything in place, Luke's best friend on the show, Luke Mabbott, placed the crown on Siânnise's head and proceeded to walk her to different parts of the villa.

Each location contained a clue that would ultimately lead her to her 'prince'. After eventually finding all the clues and answering a series of questions from the Islanders, Siânnise found her way to Luke T.

He was sat waiting for her in his own crown and when she reached him he asked her to be his girlfriend.

Fans were quick to add their thoughts, with one writing: "Tasha don’t think I don’t know you copied Luke T."

Another said: "Really want Tasha and Andrew gone. She’s just copied what couples have done in previous years with the notes; so cringeworthy."

And a third wrote: "Tasha is copying Luke T asking Siannise to be his girlfriend but his was better cause he had a different islander read a speech at each spot."

Although the love was flowing between Andrew and Tasha, they weren't the only ones to proclaim their love for each other.

Luca Bish and Gemma Owen kickstarted things by uttering those all important three words to one another.

Love Island fans were left less than impressed and some even suggested Gemma didn't really mean it.

The romantic exchange was started by fishmonger Luca, 23, who uttered the words "I love you" but rather than get the response he wanted, Gemma, 19, responded: "That’s actually mad to hear that."

Luca persevered and nudged his partner to try another answer which resulted in her finally saying: "I love you too."

Sitting in the Beach Hut afterwards, Luca left viewers teary eyed as he admitted it was "one of the best days of my life".
