Love Island fans were quick to notice the cooler temperatures during the first episode of the ITV show and wondered if the islanders were "cold".

The popular dating programme returned for a brand new series on Monday night, leaving die-hard fans on the edges of their seats.

But as the new season, which is currently being filmed in South Africa, kicked off, fans spotted that the contestants looked cold and appeared to head straight to the fire pit to keep warm when the sun started to set.

Sharing their thoughts on the windy scenes and the shivering contestants, Love Island fans jumped onto Twitter.

One viewer said: "It’s so windy they could have done it next month."

Another penned: "Looool mate it looks cold there."

A third chimed: "Imagine having to pretend it's not mad windy and you don't want to reach for a wee cardi."
