Love Island viewers were left completely stunned when tonight's episode, Monday 24 July, saw Abi Moores dressing up as a full-blown clown for the talent show competition.

Some fans claimed it was unbelievable that bosses must have "made" the islander don the costume after her ongoing on-off romance saga with Mitchel Taylor.

In recent days, fans have been left cringing over 25 year old Abi's behaviour in the villa, claiming that she clearly still likes Mitch, 26, despite now being coupled up with Scott van-der-Sluis.

And in the latest two instalments, the blonde bombshell has started to become really upset at the prospect that footballer Scott doesn't actually "like" her.

With many viewers claiming Abi comes on too strong and even the star herself admitting she burns "brighter than the sun" during relationships, it left many to wonder why she ended up being the only one to don a "joke" outfit during the competition.

Along with a bright blue clown hat and a multicoloured bow tie, Abi also opted for full clown makeup, as well as a pair of patterned trousers and braces.

While the star looked as gorgeous as always, viewers were cringing over the concept.

One fan shared: "Abi dressing as a clown balloon artist was ironic #loveisland."

"Whoever decided to put Abi in that clown makeup was EV IL #LoveIsland," another angry viewer declared.

A third shared solidarity with the islander, saying: "I can't lie, when Abi said she's been feeling like a clown most days so is just embracing it, that s**t hurt #LoveIsland"

While a fourth person wondered: "Did they tell Abi she had to be a clown? Does she know she didn't need to do that? #LoveIsland"

"Naa the producers must have told Abi to dress like a clown & Scott to sing because it isnt making any sense #LoveIsland," another viewer guessed.

Another fan added: "Why did they make Abi dress up like a clown?! #loveisland"

While the star's outfit was questionable, Abi grinned as she created balloon animals for her friends in the villa, and Scott cheered his girl on from around the fire pit.

Some of the talent was downright incredible, as Ella Barnes showed off her professional dance moves, and Lochan Nowacki admitted he used to throw frisbees for Great Britain.

Tyrique Hyde and Whitney Adebayo also performed a scene-stealing rap in the talent show.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
