Love Island fans plead with ITV producers to rescue ‘unhealthy’ Casa Amor cat

Love Island fans have pleaded with producers to rescue a potentially "unhealthy' cat seen on the show's Unseen Bits.

Saturday night's episode (July 10) of the ITV2 dating series saw Casa Amor invaded by an adorable white moggy.

The feline soon gained a number of Islander admirers including Gemma Owen, who approached the cat and proceeded to feed it some ham.

After hiding behind the firepit, the cat scurried away before the Islanders could embrace it – but the furry gatecrasher's appearance soon raised alarm bells between Love Island fans online.

Posting to Twitter, fans shared their concern for the "unhealthy" and "starving" looking animal and pleaded with show producers to step in and ensure its welfare.

Others warned the cat could be suffering from skin cancer after spotting that its ears looked sun-damaged.

One viewer wrote: "The cat looked homeless and unhealthy. I hope someone has made sure it's okay?"

Another commented: "So what happened to the cat? It was obviously starving and had something wrong with its ears. Did anybody catch it, feed it and take it to a vet?"

Meanwhile, a third fan said: "The white cat at the villa probably has skin cancer on the tips of its ears from sun damage. Maybe @LoveIsland can get it to a vet?"

A fourth fan warned: "Please take the cat to a vet! Its ears look cancerous (which happens to cats in sunny climates)."

"OMG that poor cat on #LoveIsland needs a vet. Least they cat do with all the money they make from the show. That's the content I'm wanting," a fifth concluded.

Love Island fans were left tickled after Friday night's tit-gate episode.

A teaser for Sunday night's episode (July 10) also teased a potential reunion between Dami Hope and Indiyah Pollack.

Love Island continues at 9pm tonight (July 10) on ITV2.
