Love Islands Gemma feels awkward over Lucas behaviour, body language expert says

Gemma Owen is showing signs that she feels awkward over her other half Luca Bish's behaviour towards Tasha Ghouri, a body language expert has revealed.

Michael Owen's daughter Gemma, 19, has been coupled up with the 23 year old fishmonger for the majority of the hit ITV dating programme Love Island. And while things between them have been going well, with the couple even dropping the L bomb, Luca has been clashing with Gemma's pal Tasha, 23.

In recent episodes, Luca chose Tasha as 'the Islander most likely to ride on their partner's coattails' in a challenge. Him and Dami Hope, 26, were later heard discussing how they didn't trust her intentions.

Luca then decided to shove a pie in her face during the Snog Marry Pie challenge, stating his reasoning as: "I could give you a list as long as Adam but we let it go for today and it is just a game."

He quickly realised his mistake though as he later apologised to Tasha over his actions.

Now, body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of MyBettingSites, has exclusively told OK! that his apology was genuine – but Gemma felt "awkward" throughout the whole ordeal.

“Luca’s body language towards Tasha when he was apologising to her suggests that he was being sincere," he said. "When the gestures you are making with your body matches what you are verbally saying, it’s a sign that you are being genuine and mean what you say. Luca’s hands were moving in rhythm with his words throughout his conversation with Tasha, suggesting he did mean he was sorry."

Speaking of Gemma's reactions to Luca's behaviour towards Tasha, Darren said she was more "controlled and suppressed compared to other occasions where she has called him out in challenges or criticised him in another situation."

He continued: "You can sense she feels awkward and in the middle and often pulls a face or grimace when things get tense.

"While she gives Luca the benefit of the doubt and wants to think he isn’t being malicious or trying to upset Tasha, you can see her frustration when she calls him out for his behaviour and he doesn’t quite grasp what he’s done."

Despite this, Darren argued that their body language shows they've built a "very strong foundation" as the "minor squabbles" don't affect them.

He added that Luca and Gemma are actually the most genuine couple in the villa, too. "They seem to be the strongest couple, with Luca persistently working hard to win Gemma’s affection," he said.

Darren continued: "They have both shared the most change between them as a couple, with Gemma developing a greater tolerance and affection for Luca and Luca becoming less insecure and reliant on reassurance from Gemma. Any demonstration of affection is now reciprocated by Gemma, reflecting how their relationship is now in a much better place.

“Non-verbally there are all the signs of reciprocal liking between them, like prolonged eye contact and tactileness. We also see Gemma tilting her head when around Luca – a gesture that females make when they are heavily into someone. They have been consistently together throughout the entire process and it’s clear there are genuine, strong feelings there.

"They seem to be very happy together and it’s highly likely their romance will continue on the outside.”
