Love Island’s Jack Keating reveals he applied for show and wasn’t approached

Love Island star Jack Keating has revealed that he applied for the hit ITV2 dating show and wasn't approached.

Taking to Instagram, the son of Ronan Keating, 23, took part in a candid Q&A with his 31.1K followers on Tuesday night.

With one account asking: "Did you apply for Love Island or were you approached?"

To which Jack replied with a selfie and the caption: "I applied."

It comes after the Islander recently revealed that his younger sister Missy, 21, turned it down for two years running and that he decided to apply after a few drinks.

Speaking to Dublin Live, Jack said: "For the last two years they asked Missy. They scouted Missy to do the show and she’s been kind of like, ‘Nah, it’s not really for me’.

"Then me and Missy I think had a couple of drinks and she was like: ‘Jack, why don’t you apply for it so I thought why not?’ It was never something I thought about doing before and I just thought why not."

Jack added: "I actually didn’t tell anyone, I didn’t tell my mum or my dad or anyone in my family. I didn’t tell anyone until pretty much when I got to go so I kept it as quiet as possible."

It comes after Ronan Keating admitted that he was "nervous as hell" watching son Jack enter Love Island before his exit last week.

Jack entered Casa Amor earlier this month as one of the male bombshells and it wasn't long until he name dropped his famous father to Gemma Owen, the daughter of Michael Owen.

Sharing his thoughts over his son's explosive arrival to the ITV2 villa, Ronan, 45, admitted that his "heart was beating out of his chest".

Speaking to MailOnline, the Boyzone star and Life Is A Rollercoaster hitmaker said: "I won't lie, I've been nervous as hell. When I saw him walk into the villa my heart was beating out of my chest.

"I'm excited for him though, this is something he wanted to do, and I'll always support him and all my kids in their endeavours.
