Love Island’s Jess – ‘I injected my own Botox, I can’t have wrinkles on TV’
Love Island star Jess Harding administered her own Botox injections before she headed to the villa – to make sure she was wrinkle-free on TV.
The beautician, who is just 22, has been having Botox and fillers since she was only 18 and runs her own west London cosmetic procedure company, Candy Aesthetics, where she also offers fat-dissolving treatments and Brazilian bum lifts.
Often her beautician friends help each other out by doing each other’s jabs. But ahead
of Love Island, Jess took matters into her own hands.
“The other day I did do my own Botox because no one was available,” admitted Jess. “It was horrible but I had to do it, you can’t have wrinkles on telly.”
While she regularly has cosmetic enhancements, Jess insisted it’s “nothing extreme”. “I do have a little bit of Botox and filler,” she explained.
“I just got it because when it’s your job it’s quite easy to just say, ‘Go on then.’ A lot of the practitioners work together. I’ve had so many of my practitioner friends come to me, like, ‘Babe, can you just put it in my face?’ To us it’s nothing, and people are spending hundreds and thousands. It’s easily influenced but I’m quite scared of needles, considering it’s my job.”
She might be insecure about her wrinkles, but Jess is very confident in her bikinis and wants other girls to feel proud if they’ve got “boobs and a bum”. I’m body confident. I’m not a size skinny 6,” said Jess.
“I’ve got boobs and a bum. I’ve got curves. It’ll be nice to show the outside world that it’s OK to be curvy.”
Armed with her tweakments, Jess wasn’t worried about wearing make-up in the villa all the time. “I’m fine waking up next to a man with no make-up on,” she said. “I never wear make-up, even to work, as long as I’ve got some sort of lash on and my eyebrows done, I’ll be fine.”
When she leaves Love Island, Jess hopes to have more than just a boyfriend – she’s also looking for business opportunities. “It would be nice for my business to expand and have more clinics” she smiled. “I’ve only got one so it would be nice to put them all over the country, that’s my goal.”
Jess is bringing so much sauce to Love Island and she wants any lads she gets serious with to match her sunny outlook.
“Personality is such a big thing for me because I’ve got such a big personality,” says Jess. “Boys I’ve been with in the past have just been so miserable. It’s just me giving all my energy and getting none back.”
And if they have no personality, then they’d better be a sort!
“Obviously, if you’re handsome as well, that works,” said Jess. However, she admitted that after a few gins, she gets less choosy.
“I’ve kissed a few frogs, she laughed. “Some of them were proper toads. When I have a drink I get a bit goggle-eyed, I just think everyone’s handsome and I kiss everyone. It’s really bad, I need to get out of that habit! It’s the pink gin and lemonades!”
If the booze comes out in the Love Island villa, Jess warned that anything can happen. “I need to be careful in the villa because I’m a lightweight,” she admitted. “I’ll have one glass of prosecco and I’ll be p****d! The boys they put in there are usually half decent so I can work with that!”
However, Jess has made herself and her family a very big promise – no sex on TV! “I’m just going to enjoy the moment. I’m not having sex on TV, my poor grandad!” she said. “When it comes to that sort of stuff I am very private. To me, to have sex on telly, nah! I can hold myself back if I need to.”
Love Island has instantly made Jess famous, but she’s previously been connected to The Only Way Is Essex star Jon Clark, 28, after they matched on Hinge and exchanged messages. But she decided he was too old.
“I did get messages from Jon Clark,” revealed Jess. “He was a bit too old for me. We matched on Hinge, a good year ago. My mates were like, ‘That’s Jon from TOWIE.’ I was so oblivious. I did entertain it because I knew he was a celeb! We never went on
a date – he always asked, but no!”
Jess has been cheated on in the past so was determined not to get into a love triangle on Love Island.
“The boy I was seeing, he was seeing two of us, there was a crossover for about three months,” said Jess. “I took it on the chin though. That was the worst. I found out because she messaged me, we had a phone call. It was a friendly girl-to-girl conversation. Usually it’s the man’s fault.” She adds, “If I end up in a love triangle I’ll bow out, 100%. I like the chase, I’m not a chaser. If they want me, they want me, it’s their loss if they don’t come back.”
