Masked Singer judge Jonathan Ross reveals embarrassing blunder with best friend on hit show | The Sun

IT'S FAIR to say Jonathan Ross has quite a few showbiz pals, thanks to his long career interviewing the biggest stars around.

So it may come as surprise to hear that when one of his celebrity best friends was on The Masked Singer, he made a major blunder.


Jonathan is back on TV on Saturday nights with the wacky talent show, alongside fellow judges  Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora and Davina McCall.

But he has now revealed that the new series of The Masked Singer sees one of his good mates taking part in the show.

However, Rossy went on to say that he failed to unmask them.

Speaking to The Mirror he said: “One of them was definitely a friend.

"I mean, that was slightly embarrassing, because I didn’t get them right.

“I know this person socially and I’m in touch with this person via text quite a lot and all that kind of thing.

“After the show I texted them and had a chat with them, so that’s embarrassing. It’s the first time it’s happened to me on the show.

“In my defence, I think we all should have got this person.”

Speaking about being a judge on The masked Singer, he added: “The weird thing is, once you’ve got the idea in your head for someone and they kind of fit, it’s really hard to snap away from that and think about other people.

“You keep going back to your strongest guess.”

Jonathan has been a regular face on the box, since he began his career back in the 80s.

He was launched into the spotlight when he hosted The Last Resort With Jonathan Ross in 1987.

But he really became a household name when he got his own BBC friday night show in the 2000s.

He later switched to ITV, and is famous for his The Jonathan Ross show, which airs on Saturday nights.
