Masked Singers Fawn exposed as celeb confirms identity with Instagram post

The Masked Singer fans have been speculating who is behind the elaborate disguise of Fawn, and the celebrity may have just confirmed their own identity with an Instagram post.

Fawn took to the stage for the second time on Saturday night (January 21) and wowed the judges with their rendition of the hit Madonna track, Into the Groove.

And while there has been plenty of theories on who is behind the mask, suspicion has fallen firmly on Natalie Appleton following a vital clue on social media.

The Canadian singer is a member of girl group All Saints as well as one half of the duo Appleton alongside her youngster sister Nicole Appleton.

Just hours before Fawn's performance, the 49-year-old returned to Instagram after more than a month away with a montage of herself and Nicole from their band days.

The post seemed to trigger something with fans as many took to the comments to point out that it's impossible not to recognise Natalie's vocals.

"I think it’s time for Appleton pt II. Also love Fawn, I’d know those perfect vocals everytime," penned one user.

"Hi Fawn! Huge fan, I’d know that voice anywhere," commented a second user.

Another user echoed: "Love Fawn on masked singer. Your voice is so beautiful and distinctive it’s difficult not to recognise it."

Other clues that had viewers pointing in Natalie's direction included the mention of Black Coffee, the title of All Saints' number one hit.

In another shot during Fawn's VT, there was a necklace with Sandy printed on it, potentially nodding to their song Pure Shores.

Fawn also admitted in a riddle that she's "been to Wonderland," suggesting a link to All Saints heading on Take That's Wonderland tour as their supporting act in 2017.

On Saturday night, Fawn sailed through to the next stage of the competition, while Jacket Potato and Rubbish battled it out in the sing-off.

Rubbish was axed from the competition and unveiled as snooker legend Stephen Hendry.
