Matt Hancock ‘mobbed by selfie hunters’ after return to his constituency

Matt “Coco” Hancock was mobbed by selfie hunters in his constituency after his return from I’m A Celeb, his office claims.

The returning MP, who spent time in his West Suffolk seat for the first time since leaving the Jungle on Friday (December 2), was said to have been inundated with requests for photographs.

He had visited a food bank and held an MPs surgery on his patch after taking more than three weeks off to appear on the ITV show, in which he finished third.

During his controversial spell on the show, his constituents had repeatedly slammed his leave of absence.

But his office claims his time on the show gave them a chance to get to know his personality and that they seem to like him.

Matt, also discussed enjoying his time being back on his patch in a clip he shared on his Facebok page, said: “It’s great to be back in Suffolk on a constituency day.

“We’re getting to the end of my constituency day, having held my surgery, been on constituency visits and its a bit nippy, but it’s good to be back.”

During his time back on the job, the loverat MP also met business bigwigs in Suffolk and discussed fiercely opposed plans for a solar and battery farm.

His office also said Hancock, who has had the whip suspended by the Conservative Party after going on the show and now sits as an independent MP, will not be pursuing a career in TV.

That’s despite his time in the jungle, and upcoming appearance on TV show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Sources also claim he won’t be stepping back or standing down as an MP and is committed to his political career.

It is believed Conservative MPs had a deadline of 5 December to tell the party if they want to stand again in 2024.

But Hancock’s office insist MPs who have been suspended from the party have a deadline of January 4.
