Maya Jama’s epic Love Island entrance revealed as show splashes the cash on exciting new host | The Sun
MAYA Jama will make Love Island history as she prepares to make the most extravagant entrance to the villa in the show’s history.
ITV bosses have pulled out all the tops for television star Maya – who will jet in via helicopter in scenes never-before-seen on Love Island.
Maya, 28, previously teased her exciting entrance and now The Sun can exclusively reveal just how she will be dropping in to meet this year’s contestants.
A source said: “Maya is a huge signing for Love Island and ITV wanted to make sure her entrance to the show was something very special.
“They have forked out big money for this entrance and it is the most extravagant – and expensive – in Love Island’s history.
“Maya is going to be taken up in a helicopter and will fly to the villa.
“It’s going to be a massive moment and will be really exciting for the contestants, who are used to seeing the hosts just turning up at the door.
“Sparks are going to fly this series – and Maya is going to be like the firework kicking off proceedings.”
The Sun exclusively revealed last year how Maya had been chosen to take over from Laura Whitmore on the hit ITV2 and ITVX show.
Since leaving BBC Radio 1 back in May 2020, Maya has gone on to become a household name in television and has held starring roles on the BBC and ITV.

Love Island begins on Monday evening at 9pm, with a slew of wannabes ready to meet their matches.
This year’s intake includes social media sensation Will Young, who works as a farmer, and actress Olivia Hawkins, who has worked as a body double for actress Michelle Keegan.
Today ITV unveiled a brand new twist for this year’s winter version of Love Island.
For the first time in the show’s history fans will be voting for the first bombshell to enter the villa.
Voting opened today and fans will have until 9pm tomorrow [Friday] night to have their say.
Law firm administrator Ellie Spence, 25, and semi-pro footballer Tom Clare, 23, are the first pair up for the vote and fans will have to decide who to send in.
