Meghan Markle ‘felt second fiddle’ in Coronation plans, expert claims
GB News: Kinsey Schofield on Meghan not attending coronation
It was recently confirmed Meghan Markle won’t be attending King Charles III’s Coronation with Prince Harry next month.
Over the weekend, it was reported the Duchess of Sussex’s decision was based on some 2021 correspondence between herself and King Charles allegedly about unconscious bias and racism.
Meghan has since criticised the claims, but American royal journalist Kinsey has gone on to argue an updated Telegraph article “speaks volumes” about the thought process that went into the Coronation decision.
Speaking on GB News on Monday morning, the well-known critic of the Sussexes indicated Meghan felt “second fiddle” in Coronation plans.
GB News host Isobel Webster stated: “Megan’s been keen to imply that she’s long since moved on from this unconscious bias accusation in the Royal Family and that’s not why she’s not coming to the Coronation.
“But there does certainly seem to have been some kind of correspondence between the pair and perhaps a bit of bad blood.”
She then asked Kinsey to share her thoughts on the subject.

“That’s right,” the American journalist replied. “I mean, this was a really interesting story that came out in the Telegraph over the weekend, where the Telegraph said that Meghan would not be attending the Coronation, not because of Archie’s birthday, but because of letters that were sent years ago between her and King Charles, and she just didn’t like the response she received from the King about unconscious bias and about this alleged incident regarding Archie’s skin colour.
“But Isobel, The Telegraph then updates the article per the legal letter from the Sussex.
“But I think what’s the most interesting part about this updated article is what was not updated.
“Isobel, they did not take out anything regarding Harry and Meghan or Meghan, specifically, feeling second fiddle to the Wales’ or being upset that their children weren’t going to be considered or participating in Coronation festivities, that stayed in the article untouched.
“So the idea that this message was combing through that article which had updates but they decided to leave that bit alone, I think speaks volumes.”
Following the original Telegraph claims, the Sussexes issued a statement via royal commentator Omid Scobie.
It read: “The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.
“Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous. We encourage tabloid media and various royal commentators to stop the exhausting circus that they alone are creating.”
