Mortal danger for Coronation Street teen as she’s terrorised by couple | The Sun

ONE Weatherfield teen has been in cahoots with a shady pair in recent months.

And according to Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod, it could all end in mortal disaster.

Summer Spellman shocked ITV viewers when it was revealed she was expecting a baby.

While she was initially determined to have an abortion, her plans were turned on their head when creepy couple Esther and Mike offered her money to become their surrogate.

Fans of the Manchester-based drama will know that, since then, the teen portrayed by Harriet Bibby went above and beyond to remain in their good graces and get the cash.

This included lying to them after she lost her baby, which they found out the hard way.

Viewers are warned – it's only downhill from here.

"It's going to end badly for some of them", Iain told The Sun.

During her storyline, Summer made a string of "incredibly bad decisions."

She won't make change part of her New Year's resolutions as she "will continue to make a couple more over this."

"She's driven by the fact she feels guilty for some of the lies she's told Esther and Mike", Iain added.

In the hopes of making amends for her past actions, the producer affirmed Summer is turning a blind eye "to some of the red flags going off in Esther and Mike's relationship."

To make matters worse, Iain teased "mortal danger" for the 18-year-old.

"Summer finds herself in a certain degree of mortal danger as a result of her determination to do right by them and make up for the lies."

But Summer isn't alone in the cobbles and benefits from a strong support system.

Three father figures in the form of Billy Mayhew, Todd Grimshaw and Paul Foreman are set to pull her out of her downward spiral.

"In the end it's about the family", Iain insisted, "her three dads save her from oblivion and bring her back to normality and reconnect her with who she was before she lost her way."

Viewers have recently grown increasingly concerned for Summer's well-being, suspecting she may be embroiled in a domestic abuse storyline.

Mike and Esther Hargrave have raised suspicions and their secrets will eventually be uncovered, as teased by spoilers.
