Netflix backlash as fans demand ‘explanation’ for Love is Blind delay

Love Is Blind: Netflix announces release date for season 4

After a drama-packed season of Netflix’s hit reality show Love is Blind, fans eagerly awaited the return of the show’s reunion episode. However, viewers were faced with a disappointing delay as they waited an hour and 20 minutes to watch Zack finally confront Irina among other Love is Blind dramas.

The Love Is Blind reunion was thrown into chaos this weekend after the live show was delayed by Netflix.

Fans of the show were met with a screen that read: “There’s an issue with the live stream,” as they tuned in at 8pm ET to get a dose of the action.

Following the disappointing delay the streaming service addressed the issue which seemingly infuriated fans even more.

Netflix’s official Twitter account released the statement, as they explained the reason for the lengthy delay

The tweet read: “To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned.

“We’re filming it now and we’ll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”

Netflix also responded to the outage on Twitter saying: “Love is … late.”

As they tried their best to keep fans up to date, later tweeting: “#LoveIsBlindLIVE will be on in 15 minutes!”

Despite Netflix’s apology, it appears the streaming service’s attempts to make it up to fans were deemed a poor response by viewers who sat waiting for over an hour.

One user @emilymiller replied: “Your apology is missing an explanation about why the show didn’t air live while we all waited.”

Another angry fan @Alinity wrote: “WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? “Not turned out like we had planned”? Something happen and you are filming it again?”

While @@mytalkcolleen commented: “Hi. Pro tip. Don’t heavily promote something you can’t deliver. Byeeeeeee.” [sic]

When the show finally hit the air, no time was wasted before the drama of season four unravelled.

One of the most anticipated appearances on the show was from Irina, who was engaged to Zack after he chose to propose to her over fellow Bliss Poureetezadi, after being in a tense love triangle throughout the blind dating stage.

However, their relationship quickly took a turn for the worse whilst on their honeymoon in Mexico.

“If we’re real – you went on this show to be famous,” Zack told Irina on Sunday night’s reunion.

The live audience gasped as they quickly reacted to Zack’s explosive comment.

Another couple fans were eager to have some clarification from was Paul, after his controversial moment from his wedding to Micah Lussier.

After the wedding episode aired, eagle-eyed viewers caught a moment that they believed showed Paul spanking one of Micah’s bridesmaids.

Nick and Vanessa Lachey did not shy away from getting clarification from the man himself.

Paul responded to the claims, saying: “To imply that that was anything more than just me gesturing, acknowledging that I was squeezing past her – kind of bumped into her shoulder – is literally absurd.”

Love is Blind is available to stream on Netflix in the UK and the US.
