Phillip Schofield and I have a secret on-air code we always use, says This Morning's Josie Gibson | The Sun

EVER since she joined the This Morning presenting line-up, Josie Gibson has been welcomed by viewers with open arms.

And it seems it’s exactly the same behind-the-scenes, as Josie has exclusively opened up to The Sun about her relationship with her co-hosts, including long-running presenter Phillip Schofield.

Speaking as she takes over at the helm for the summer months alongside a string of other guest hosts, Josie, 37, said they’ve bonded so much that they’ve even developed a secret on-air code.

The down-to-earth star, who is part of a team including Ruth Langsford and Rochelle Humes, told us: “I’ll be honest, he had a lot of patience with me and gave me some real little pointers – even little things you wouldn’t even think of.

“Phil said to me, ‘I would never want to interrupt you or talk over you so if you want to ask the next question, take a little breath and I’ll hear you.’

“And if he wants to ask the next question, he takes a little breath and I hear him. It’s very clever.

“No-one would ever know, but you’ve got to listen out to your partner. He’s a true professional.”

Josie also reveals Phil, 60, has been by her side guiding her through when there’s been some sticky moments on screen – especially when they were joined by a man who claimed to have the biggest penis in the world.

The star recalls: “The funniest thing about that is because we can’t just have anyone on the show claiming to have the biggest willy, so our researcher had to take it out the back and measure it.”

So now that she’s been accepted into This Morning’s inner circle, has Josie enjoyed one of the show’s famously raucous nights out?

And how does she fare next to infamous party animals Phillip and his co-host Holly Willoughby?

Mum-of-one Josie laughs: “Because I’ve got a little one, it’s hard to go on a night out at the moment.

“But I’ve had a few lovely lunches with the team, I’ll give them that. They pick lovely places.”

Now former Big Brother contestant Josie is looking forward to hosting the show alongside other familiar faces in the coming weeks, from Vernon Kay to Craig Doyle.

She’s also bagged her own travel segment called Josie's Camping Capers, which began airing last week, and says every second of hosting the flagship show is a dream come true.

She smiles: “It’s such an honour and privilege. I’ve kind of got to put it to the side a bit because otherwise I’ll get myself too worked up.
