Prince Harry Netflix blunder as paparazzi shown chasing Katie Price not Meghan

The new Netflix trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming documentary appears to use edited footage of Katie Price making a court appearance, as the pair claim it was them being hounded by paparazzi.

Viewers were left with raised eyebrows after spotting footage from what is clearly identifiable as Crawley Magistrates Court where Price appeared last December to be sentenced for drink driving.

The 63-second clip shows the Sussex's promising to unveil “the full truth” about “dirty” media tactics which they claim forced them to leave behind their lives as working royals.

But unearthed footage shows a mirror image of the scene following the former glamour model, with the footage cutting off before she can be seen.

As Harry accuses the press of a “feeding frenzy” targeting Ms Markle, a montage of images shows the couple in various situations interspersed with shots showing packs of paparazzi.

Another piece of video shows photographers huddling around a car as the trailer then cuts to an image of Meghan dabbing her eyes, seemingly in tears.

But yet again the footage was sourced from a totally unrelated scene from 2019, when former President Donald Trump's attorney Michael Cohen was seen leaving his New York apartment to serve time in prison.

LBC compared the footage to clarify that both clips were the same, pointing out that there was a cameraman wearing a grey jumper and what seems to be the same equipment, a woman dressed in black in a Covid mask and the lettering of Crawley Magistrates court on the building.

While another piece of footage of "press hounding" from the trailer features a photo taken in 2011 – five years before they met.

The dramatic trailer, which was released on Monday afternoon, sees Prince Harry powerfully speak about the "pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution", with images of Meghan contrasting with those of his mother.

"I realised, they're never going to protect you," Meghan says as paparazzi are seen snapping pictures. As she wipes away a tear, Harry is heard saying he was "terrified".

The teaser for the show, which drops on Thursday, features a number of candid snaps of the couple from throughout their time together.

But one photo features hordes of photographers clamouring to take pictures – suggesting they were trying to take images of the couple.

However, it has now emerged that the picture used in the promo does not show photographers snapping photos of Harry and Meghan.

Instead, it shows snappers at the red carpet premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two in central London.

Daily Star has contacted Netflix for comment.
