On Dan Wootton Tonight, the GB News host spoke about Queen Elizabeth II’s first step of the long journey back to London which began in Scotland. Dan touched on The Queen’s only daughter during his discussion and highlighted her importance within the monarchy going forward.

Speaking about the reigning monarch’s journey from Balmoral to Edinburgh, Dan said Sunday belonged to The Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne.
He informed viewers the 72-year-old will also be accompanying her mother’s coffin on the flight back to London this week.
The GB news host said: “It was Anne, who was believed to be by her side as her mother died.
“While there was no reference from Charles to his sister during the King’s speech to the nation on Friday night, she must be an imperative part of his slimmed-down monarchy.

“If the Queen’s long working life taught us anything, it’s that duty isn’t always glamorous. In fact, it’s usually not.
“It’s about doing the hard yard, it’s about spending time on the road, raking up the engagement, representing those charities that more often than not, avoid media coverage.”
Dan added Anne has inherited so many traits from her mother before paying tribute to our monarchy.
He added: “Her deep curtsey today as she stood and watched her mother enter Holyroodhouse house for the final time at the end of the hardest journey.

“It signified the dignity, tradition and understated emotion that makes our monarchy so special.”
The Queen died on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral house at 96-years-old after reigning for 70 years, making history as the UK’s longest-serving monarch.
Upon her death, her eldest son, Charles became the new sovereign and addressed the nation for the first time as King on Thursday evening.
During his speech, King Charles III referred to his children, Prince William and Prince Harry and announced the new title William will inherit.

Formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and his wife Kate will be called the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Elsewhere in the speech, the monarch also mentioned his youngest son Prince Harry and his life abroad.
He said: “I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.
“In a little over a week’s time, we will come together as a nation, as a Commonwealth and indeed a global community, to lay my beloved mother to rest.”

Emotional, King Charles III paid tribute to his late mother as he thanked her for her long service.
He said: “To my darling Mama, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this: Thank you.
“Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years.”
