Rachel Weisz takes on the dual role of psychotic twins in Dead Ringers

Dead Ringers landed on Amazon Prime Video today (April 21) with all six episodes available to binge in one go.
The show is a fresh take on the David Cronenberg classic which originally starred Jeremy Irons in the dual role of twins.
The original 1988 Hollywood movie took its cue from the real-life twin gynaecologists Stewart and Cyril Marcus as well as the fictionalised version of their lives in the novel Twins by Bari Wood and Jack Geasland.
Dead Ringers saw Irons, Cronenberg and the rest of the cast receive a slew of awards with the film becoming a huge success.
Amazon gave Dead Ringers a straight-to-series order back in 2020 with the show in the making for several years before finally hitting screens.

Elliot and Beverly Mantle – Rachel Weisz
This time Rachel Weisz will be taking on the lead parts of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twin fertility doctors who share everything including lovers and drugs as well as an unbridled passion to play God by pushing the boundaries of medical science.
British Hollywood star Weisz is best known for her parts in The Mummy, The Constant Gardener, The Lobster and The Favourite, among many others.
Genevieve – Britne Oldford
Britne Oldford portrays Genevieve, which could be a nod to Dead Ringers’ actress Geneviève Bujold who played love interest and patient Claire Niveau in the original movie.
Oldford is best known for her roles in The Umbrella Academy, American Horror Story: Asylum, The Path and Blindspot.
