Ronan Keatings daughter Missy approached by Love Island bosses before brother

Ronan Keating's son may not have found the one for him on Love Island, but things could've been very different if his daughter had entered the villa.

Unfortunately for fans of Dublin lad Jack Keating, he failed to make an impact upon entering the iconic Casa Amor villa, being booted off the show during a recoupling during Thursday's episode.

Jack, who barely got any screen time it seemed, said he didn't have any regrets about going on the ITV show, even urging others to apply.

Asked whether he'd recommend it for future applicants, he said: "100%. I would tell them it’s pretty full on but you’re going to have the best time of your life! Amazing experience and I would definitely recommend it."

But things could have been completely different as Jack's younger sister was initially asked to go onto the show

Love Island bosses were keen to get Missy into the villa for a summer of love – but ended up with her brother.

The 21-year-old model, whose mum is Ronan's ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, was living in London with her boyfriend when she was approached by producers.

In August 2020, she said: "Last year when I was in London they did contact me but I was in a relationship so it was a no, I don't know where the whole thing came from this year.

"It was never on the cards and probably never will. Love Island is not really a show for me, maybe other shows but no, I'm a taken lady."

Rumours continued to swirl as to whether Missy would be in the villa – and with 50,000 Instagram followers she was the ideal candidate.

Ronan admitted in 2020 that there had been a whole host of offers from reality shows for Missy, but so far she's only dipped her toe in to Dancing with the Stars Ireland.
