Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace was the Chaser tasked with stopping Thursday’s team of budding quizzers from leaving the ITV show with life-changing sums of money. Facing him were a team comprised of Lloyd, Cate, Alison and Hashim, with Lloyd welcomed to the table first by Bradley Walsh. However, Lloyd’s route to the Final Chase didn’t go without a slip-up or two along the way.

After racking up £4,000 in his cash-builder, Lloyd turned down Shaun’s lower and higher offers when he took to the table.

But his first question didn’t exactly fall into Lloyd’s expertise, as Bradley asked: ”Where would you be most likely to find a tachograph?”

The possible answers were a hospital, a lorry or a swimming pool, with Lloyd opting for hospital.

“I think so, I’m not 100 percent sure but it just rings a bell,” Lloyd said as Hashim could be seen nodding along behind him.

“It’s something to do with – it’s something medical,” Lloyd added before Bradley asked for the correct answer to be unveiled.

“Thank god you’re not a doctor,” Bradley quipped beforehand, however, as he clearly knew Lloyd had made an error.

“It’s a lorry,” Bradley remarked as laughter began to ripple throughout the studio.

The former Doctor Who star went on: “Standing there in an operating theatre with your jack and your spanner.”

Shaun got the answer right but instead of taking aim at Lloyd, he pointed his finger at Hashim.

“What was worrying was Hasim heard hospital and Hashim went, ‘Yeah he’s right’!” Shaun said in disbelief.

A bemused look fell on Shaun’s face as he shook his head from left to right while a sheepish Hashim laughed at his error.

“What a team we’ve got on our hands today,” Bradley joked before asking Hashim what he did for a living.

“I’m a doctor,” Hashim replied. “I got mixed up with tuchograph rather than tachograph so…”

In the end, Lloyd did manage to make it back to the Final Chase with £4,000, joined by Alison with £1,000 and Hashim with another £4,000.

Cate sadly was sent home leaving just three players in the last round.

It wasn’t just Shaun who was bewildered by Hashim’s reaction though, as Twitter user @Turacos_mynahs joked: “Technically if the lorry drove into a hospital…  #TheChase.”

“What?..Hospital??#TheChase,” a perplexed @Basweld1 raged while @dwangeddy echoed: “Hospital? lol #TheChase.”

Elsewhere, Harry Cullen fumed: “Why does Brad always say ‘you’re better than that’ when they get an average amount on the cashbuilder? They’re clearly NOT. 

“And anyone who thinks a tachograph would be found in a hospital is NOT ‘better than a 4 grand cashbuilder!’ #TheChase As for the doctor getting it wrong!”

“Hospital ffs #TheChase,” a confused @bestchester276 added to the conversation.

While @Mayce_Windu quipped: “Hashim’s patients will be looking around for a new doctor! #TheChase.” (sic)

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
