Spoilers: Baby drama revealed for Sarah and Adam in Coronation Street
Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) tells Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that he’s taking her for dinner in upcoming Coronation Street episodes because there’s something he wants to discuss.
Sarah is preoccupied with trying to win a big contract for work, but Adam tells her that he wants to discuss them having a baby and they need to make time to talk about it properly.
Sarah is fairly sure of how she feels and tells him it’s not the right time to be talking about having a baby. Later she relents a little and says she is willing to have a discussion about increasing their family, but only when the time is right.
Sarah is of course already a mum. Her daughter Bethany, born when Sarah was only 13, is now 22 years old. Her son Billy, conceived during a relationship with Todd Grimshaw (played by Bruno Langley at the time), was born prematurely and only lived for a few days.
In 2016 Sarah gave birth to her second son, Harry. His father was drug dealer Callum Logan (Sean Ward), who was killed by Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) when she saw him attacking Sarah. Following Harry’s birth Sarah struggled with her mental health and spent time in a psychiatric ward.
Clearly the whole subject of babies isn’t an easy one or something that Sarah would consider without giving it a lot of thought, particularly now she’s trying to establish herself in a new business venture with Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell).
Will Adam’s longing for a baby cause a rift between the couple?
