Spoilers: Hope finally exposes Beth's violence in Coronation Street
A while back Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) told a horrified Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) that Beth Tinker (Lisa George) had slapped her in Coronation Street.
It’s a complicated story and it was a while back, so as a quick reminder what happened was that Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Beth’s dog Peanut ‘murdered’ Hope’s chinchilla, Cilla.
Hope being Hope decided she wanted revenge for this death and faked a dog bite on her arm using the stuffed weasel from the barber’s. Beth refused to believe that this was a real bite inflicted by Peanut, and not long after that Hope arrived home in tears saying that Beth had slapped her.
Fiz immediately confronted Beth who denied doing any such thing. For a while things were frosty between the two families which put a huge strain on the friendship of Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Kirk, which goes back years. With this in mind, Fiz and Beth decided to call a truce.
As Hope stormed out after seeing Beth apparently forgiven, Beth followed her – and viewers discovered the truth. Beth had actually slapped Hope, but she attempted to keep the girl quiet with a cash bribe.
In upcoming episodes Hope reveals what happened to Sam (Jude Riordan). She says Beth slapped her but warned her that nobody would believe her if she grassed her up.
Sam believes his friend, and he decides it’s time Hope’s parents knew the truth. He goes to tell Tyrone exactly what Hope has said, insisting she’s telling the truth about Beth’s nasty actions.
Will Tyrone believe him? And how will he respond?
