Spoilers: Rob embroiled in a complicated case after a protest in Doctors

In addition to being the husband of receptionist, Karen (Jan Pearson), Sgt Rob Hollins’ (Chris Walker) day job as a policeman often sees him involved in a variety of intriguing storylines. This week in Doctors proves no exception.

It begins as a simple case of crowd control. It has been announced that leading industrial magnate, Mark Dunham (Iain Fletcher) is opening a new factory in Letherbridge.

This development has divided the community, some welcoming the prospects for business and new jobs, others objecting strongly on the grounds that Dunham Components have a reputation for exploiting their workforce.

Rob’s role in this debate is an entirely neutral one: he is simply charged with maintaining law and order as the protests take place.

At this point, however, a young man, David (Mahesh Parmar) sees an ideal opportunity to secure work for himself.

He sneaks in to ask Dunham directly for a job in person. Dunham seems impressed by David’s ambition and arranges to have his photo taken with him.

Soon afterwards, David approaches Rob to complain that Dunham has sexually assaulted him. Rob is surprised to hear this.

He begins making enquiries as to whether any CCTV footage can be found to support David’s claim. But there are powerful forces at work here.

Can justice still hope to prevail?
