Spoilers: Vanessa's shock as Suzy's drugs secret is revealed in Emmerdale

Huge secrets were revealed in Emmerdale tonight at the wedding showcase. Or ‘Hawksford’s very first showcase, in association with Take A Vow and Dingle and Chapman Wellness Retreat,’ as Jai (Chris Bisson) introduced it. ‘Well that rolls off the tongue,’ Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) quipped.

Little did she know that her world was about to come crashing down only minutes later.

A slideshow which was supposed to highlight all the services on offer to potential brides and grooms first shook Priya (Fiona Wade), as she saw a photo of herself with no scars on her arms and back and got upset.

Worse was to come when a familiar face appeared in another slide – Holly Barton, Moira (Natalie J. Robb)’s daughter who died of a heroin overdose.

‘That was the dress she died in,’ a shocked Moira realised. Moira and Jai, who was in a relationship with Holly, naturally wanted answers from Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) about the circumstances around the photograph being taken. Suzy said that she’d employed Holly to take pictures at the wedding.

‘You could have been the last person to see her alive,’ said a distressed Moira.

Vanessa seemed uneasy about Suzy’s responses and later she tackled her about it. Under Vanessa’s questioning, Suzy admitted that she’d sent Holly out with money to meet her dealer.

This was the first time that Vanessa had heard anything about Suzy’s drug taking – which Suzy tried to reassure her was now over. She was absolutely furious. ‘[Your dealer] gave my mate’s daughter her last fix,’ she fumed.

At that point Moira came in to apologise to Suzy for getting angry with her at the showcase. Vanessa, still stunned by Suzy’s revelations, kept quiet. After Moira had gone, Vanessa and Suzy resumed their argument, with Suzy begging Vanessa not to say anything about what she’d just told her. She reasoned that it was an ‘open wound’ for her, so it would be far worse for Moira and wouldn’t bring her any peace.

‘I am begging you – please, keep this a secret,’ Suzy said.

Will Vanessa keep quiet?
