Strictly Come Dancing confirm comedian Ellie Taylor as eighth star for 2022

Ellie Taylor is the eighth celebrity to be announced to take part in 2022's Strictly Come Dancing.

The stand-up comic was announced on ITV's hugely popular daytime show Lorraine as she shared how nervous she is to be joining the cast later on this year.

As Ranvir Singh welcomed her onto the show, the actress confessed that she has been struggling to keep her participation on the show quiet for months.

She told the TV host: "I've managed to keep it in, there's been a few times where I've been out on the street going [whistles Strictly Come Dancing opening music].

"I caught my mum doing it in the toilets at a restaurant because we were out on Thursday for my dad's birthday and she was whistling in the loo!"

The brunette beauty, 38, is known for her hilarious sketches on The Mash Report and has recently expanded her horizons as she took part in the award-winning TV series Ted Lasso.

She first found fame when she appeared on the 14th series of Mock The Week back in 2015 which she continued to perform on for the next four years.
