Strictly’s Katya Jones prepares for tense dance-off with Tony Adams every week
Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has admitted that she prepares for the dreaded dance off “every week” with her celebrity partner Tony Adams.
Last week, the former footballer hit back at the judges for being too harsh with their criticisms of his hilarious dance routine to the theme tune of Grandstand as part of the BBC’s centenary celebrations.
But even the 56-year-old had to admit that things didn’t go to plan when the beloved couple joined Janette Manrara on It Takes Two on Thursday (October 27).

During their appearance on the show, the dad-of-one confessed that they had to change the dance routine at the last minute after he took a tumble during the dress rehearsals.
As the dancing duo prepare to perform the Quickstep to The Devil Went Down To Georgia by The Charlie Daniels Band, the professional dancer confessed that she fears each week could be their last.
During the BBC Two show, the TV host candidly asked: “Is there ever a point where you’re waiting there [during the results night] and you think, ‘Oh God, were gonna be in the dance-off, we need to start preparing ourselves for the end’.”
Without hesitation, the raven-haired beauty admitted: “Oh yeah, every week” much to the shock of the professional sportsman, as she insisted: “It’s true!”.
Tony then agreed that they pair wouldn’t have made it this far in the competition without the continued support of the general public voting them through the show every week.
He added: “I think the public are dragging me through at the moment and there is gonna come a point where they might forget to vote so I might need to improve a bit more.”
Later on in the show, Janette asked how training had been going for the pair ahead of the highly anticipated Halloween week.

It was at this point where the Russian dancer admitted that she had to slow down the routine for the footballer to keep up with.
She admitted: “This is ridiculously fast. It has been slowed down because it’s a lot of steps.”
Viewers couldn't help but poke fun at the duo on social media, as one user penned: "Katya looking pointedly at Tony when she mentioned having to slow the song down [heart emoji] #ItTakesTwo."
