Surprise romance confirmed for Emmerdale’s Bernice and Rishi?

In a love pairing no one saw coming, could Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) and Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) be the new hottest couple in town?

While some Emmerdale relationships are falling down around our ears (Charity and Mack, we’re looking at you) some new love could be sparking for an unexpected couple. Rishi, in particular, is deserving of a good woman, having got himself caught up in one of Sandra’s (Joanne Mitchell) schemes.

After helping him set up a dating profile, Sandra was there to pick up the pieces when his date didn’t show. It was all a set up to get him into bed to enact the second part of her plan – to blackmail him when he asked her to keep their sexy dalliance quiet.

At this point, having also fallen foul of Manpreet’s (Rebecca Sarker) cheating ways, no one would blame Rishi for giving up on love. Enter, Bernice.

The pair bond over their mutual loneliness and decide there’s only one thing for it – to have lunch together. It seems like a beautiful little love match could blossom here, that is until the reality of the situation hits Rishi like a tonne of bricks.

He overthinks things and gets cold feet after deciding that Bernice is too intense for him, cancelling their date last minute.

Bernice is horrified when she learns the truth of his rain check and Bernice being Bernice, confronts him over his poor dating etiquette.

Will that confirm Rishi’s suspicions that she’s too much for him, or will he realise he quite likes a feisty woman?
