Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid was reporting outside the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday morning ahead of the nation’s new leader Rishi Sunak entering the building. Reid was interviewing Conservative MP Victoria Atkins about Sunak becoming Prime Minister when she “rudely” interrupted her to heckle Grant Shapps and other MPs entering No 10.
Atkins was speaking to Reid from Westminster when the ITV presenter cut her off mid-sentence to shout questions to ministers entering No 10.
As the MP was talking, Reid yelled out: “Will you keep your job, Mr Hunt?”
“I’m so sorry to interrupt Victoria, I know you were making an important point about the new Prime Minister’s family values but I just wanted to draw viewers’ attention to the fact Chancellor Jeremy Hunt is in.”
She cut Atkins off a second after her apology, shouting out: “Penny Mordaunt, what words have you got for Liz Truss on her final day?
“Will you get a new job under the new Prime Minister?”
Viewers hit out at Reid on Twitter, with Lee Hood commenting: ” #GMB how incredibly rude of Susanna just then this lady has just been put up for an interview and to be interrupted like that is disrespectful.”
