During the match on Thursday, BT was forced to apologise to viewers after Celtic fans unveiled an offensive banner concerning Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The anti-monarchy protest has certainly caused a stir, with TalkTV host James Whale launching into a rant during his show. The presenter even cut one caller off, branding him “disgusting”.
The viewer, Tony from Scotland began: “You started your dialogue there, [saying] this is one of the most important things that will happen in your life, the Queen dying.
“That’s what you said at the very start of your dialogue.”
“You don’t understand?” James asked. “How can you explain that?”
The host hit back: “Because it is a very important part of my life.
“The Queen has been on the throne for my entire life which is long, much longer than you I imagine.”
Not letting it go, Tony fumed: “Why is she so important to you? Why you’re so subservient to someone you don’t even know?”
“Sod off!” James raged cutting the call short. “Go away.”Don’t call me again, I can’t stand you, you disgust me.
“Does that make it plain enough for you?” the host concluded.
