The Apprentice stars baffled by show editing as theres lots viewers dont know

BBC's The Apprentice can be challenging for contestants in more ways than one as they get their first taste of fame.

Budding entrepreneurs are selected to appear on the show in a bid to impress businessman Lord Alan Sugar and get an investment of £100,000 from him.

The stars all take part in challenges throughout the series and every episode somebody will be fired until a winner is selected – but the physical challenges aren't the only hardship.

Speaking to Daily Star following the launch of her festive collection for Pyjamily's sister company, My Christmas Pyjamas, Kathryn Burn opened up on how it really feels to be on the show.

Kathryn, who had previously done a reality TV show on The Island with Bear Grylls, said she was prepared for the editing, but she knew that some of her fellow stars may not have been.

"I know how things can be edited, so when I saw it on TV I wasn't that shocked. I knew what bits they would show and I know I'm not a horrible person, so I knew nothing would ever come across bad," Kathryn said.

She added: "I think other candidates were maybe a bit surprised. Even some things I thought to myself, 'Oh, that didn't happen like that'.

"It's an entertainment show, so it needs to be entertaining."

She explained that some things were different to what she expected though, adding that there are "restrictions that viewers don't know about".

Kathryn added: "There were things we couldn't do. I've watched it for years and I would always shout, 'Why are they doing that?!' and now I know."

Finalist Kathryn may not have take home the whopping investment, but the show has still done wonders for her business – and as she launched the festive range she was left shocked at the rate which orders flew in.

She said: "I was looking at last year's sales and I am seven times busier than opening day last Christmas – and I thought I was busy then! I'm just blown away.

"I sat here watching and it just kept coming in!"

Kathryn is incredibly grateful to the show, explaining that she went on for the investment and she knew that the show brought in whopping figures, but she didn't anticipate the huge bump in her sales.

She opened her site for the Christmas pyjamas once again this week and praised how far she's come since the initial launch.

MyChristmasPyjamas is open for orders as Kathryn gears up for another season of festive nightwear.
