The Apprentices Amy Anzel slams show and urges people to go on Dragons Den

Amy Anzel has opened up about her time on The Apprentice while branding it a "joke business show" and urging hopeful business people to go on the rival show Dragon's Den instead.

The beauty entrepreneur who owns her own business – Hollywood Beauty Browzer – appeared on the BBC business show in January this year [2022], where she was fired in week six.

Later, the American businesswoman, 49, allegedly wasn't invited to the final of the show, entitled You're Hired.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star about her business and her time on the show, Amy explained how she doesn't have any regrets – but would urge "serious business people" to go on a rival show rather than Lord Sugar's The Apprentice.

"So, I guess if you're a really serious business person with a successful, relatively successful business, I would say go on Dragon's Den," she told us.

"I mean, but once again I haven't done it so maybe that's manipulated as well.

"But from my perspective, I think Dragon's Den seems more legit than The Apprentice."

Speaking about the scheduling of the two programmes – which are both aired on BBC channels – Amy said: "I think Dragon's Den was on first, like eight o clock maybe, and then The Apprentice was on at 9 o clock. I think – I can't remember.

"But I'm pretty sure it was like, 'okay, let's put the serious business show first and then the like joke business show second, for entertainment."

In January this year, Dragon's Den aired on BBC One at 8 pm and The Apprentice on the same channel one hour later, meaning business fanatics could watch both every Thursday in the new year.

Amy later added: "Maybe it's because it's like 'okay, let's have you focus and be serious while you watch Dragon's Den, and then you can just relax and have a drink and watch these jokester candidates on The Apprentice'."

This comes as Amy revealed to us that she's happy with the way her business has grown since leaving The Apprentice.

She told us: "Although it would have been nice [to get Lord Sugar's investment], I think it's all good without him as well. So onwards and upwards."

As well as her beauty brand going from strength to strength, Amy is making a U-turn from the boardroom.

The TV star is trading business calculations for a panto script as she performs in Aladdin at The Sands Centre, Carlisle.
