The Chase fans seriously confused as ITV cuts episode length with no explanation | The Sun
VIEWERS of The Chase were left baffled as the latest episode featured a series of format shake-ups.
Owing to the Bank Holiday, the ITV game show, fronted by Bradley Walsh, failed to air as usual.
The episode welcomed four new players – Amit, Kelly, Abby and Mike – who were all hoping to win big by taking on The Governess, Anne Hegerty.
However, the episode was bumped from its usual 5pm timeslot, following a recent trend whereby ITV releases the episode later than usual on the Bank Holiday.
The Chase aired a total of 50 minutes later at 5:50pm.
That wasn't the only format shake-up as ITV also cut the episode's length in an unannounced move.

The episode only broadcast for a total of 45 minutes, leaving fans missing out on the usual hour-length episode.
Taking to Twitter to comment on the switch-ups, one fan said: “How is The Chase only on for 45 minutes today? Less breaks maybe?”
Another asked: “I wonder why ITV cut #TheChase down by 15 minutes."
A third shared: “It’s 50 minutes late, but yes, #TheChase is on!"

The ITV schedule featured a number of shake-ups as Ben Shephard's quiz show Tipping Point was also axed from its regular slot.
ITV News also saw itself be chopped from 60 minutes to just 25 minutes to air between 6:35pm and 7pm.
The broadcaster's soaps, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, then broadcast 30 minute episodes each followed by a 2 hour live episode of talent show Britain's Got Talent.
