The hit ITV show is in full swing as a fresh batch of celebrities conceal their identities behind elaborate costumes while showing their moves off on the dance floor. With nothing but a series of clues given throughout the show to help work out who they really are, fans are convinced Busted boyband member Matt Willis is behind Cactus.
During each episode, the anonymous star is shown in a videotape before dancing as they reveal some clues to the judges Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Peter Crouch.
With Cactus giving nods to performing in big venues, playing guitar and links to a hall of fame, viewers believe that it can all relate to Busted boyband star Matt Willis.
Other clues they shared included them being mistaken for a mythical beast and being a champion.
Although it was them commenting on not wanting to get “busted” which led viewers convinced it was the 00s star.
Taking to Twitter to share their theories, Teena Massam said: “Cactus could be Matt Willis…Busted…”
Miss GJ added commented: “cactus Matt Willis. it has to be with the clues.”
Claire Richards added: “Ok so far tonight all I have is Matt Willis is #Cactus on @MaskedSingerUK”
With Simon C saying: “Cactus is a Busted band member. Perhaps Matt Willis? “
Although other guesses for Cactus, who wears a wrestling outfit with a mask, include other boy band members Danny Jones, Charlie Simpson and Dougie Poynter.
So far in the series, viewers have seen Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe unmasked as the Astronaut and Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page as Pig.
Most recently, it was former Strictly Come Dancing champion Stacey Dooley who was unveiled as the person inside the Prawn Cocktail costume.
Following her exit, she told host Joel Dommet she’d had the time of her life.
She said: “I loved it, I just wanted to pretend to be a daft, drunk, annoying aunt.”
However, there are still many celebrities waiting to have their identities revealed with viewers thinking they’ve sussed out another star in the show.
After the person inside the Tomato Sauce costume said they were a staple at mealtimes, viewers quickly compared the clues to Channel 4 host Steph McGovern.
At the start of the series, they took to the dancefloor to show off their skills to B*Witched’s song C’est La Vie.
During their performance, they incorporated some impressive Irish dancing which many spotted as fans are aware that the 40-year-old is a former champion Irish dancer.
With many references to food in their clues, which could link to her show Steph’s Packed Lunch, they also mentioned a “stomach-churning” moment in a famous house.
Picking up on the hint, one viewer noted that Steph had nearly threw up on Gordon Brown at number 10, suggesting Steph is inside the costume.
The Masked Dancer airs on ITV at 6.30pm on Saturdays.
