In an emotional moment on The Repair Shop, Will Kirk and Jay Blades were on hand to support their guest Christine who requested the show fix her beloved spinning wheel. The wooden machine held a lot of sentimental value and Will’s hard work paid off in the sweet segment.
On what looked like an impossible job for Will on his restoration, Scottish guest Christine was overjoyed once he presented the fully working wool-maker.
She admitted it was previously in: “A very broken state”, ahead of the unveiling.
In front of Jay, Will agreed to do the honours due to the sensitive nature of the item and his guest was visibly moved by its new condition.
She said: “I never thought I would be able to see it brought back, it’s amazing, thank you so much.”

The guest then fought back the tears and apologised for her reaction, to which Jay calmly replied: “Don’t worry about it. it’s alright.”
Will also looked moved by the successful project and the happy recipient continued to heap praise on them and reflected on the impact the wheel had.
She added: “Having this repaired has brought back so many memories of our childhood.
“Because it was such a carefree childhood, it was such a fun activity that my sister and I especially used to do and she will be amazed.”
Christine joked: “She sent me a message last night and asked if she could gather some henty leggits last night”
The condition of the much-loved family contraption was a major concern for the expert restorer Will.
Jay joked with him before the fix: “So you’ve got this all sussed?”
Will replied: “I’ve never seen one. I don’t know how it works, I don’t know if it’s meant to be oil or polished as it’s really dry and it’s got water damage.
“I am on the ropes and this is something that could be spinning out of control if I don’t get any help.”
Will sought the assistance of a couple who worked in restoring spinning wheels for over 20 years, so he was in good company to make his guest’s dreams come true.
“We got on like a house on fire, so it was a real pleasure to go to work and get to film with her each day.”
He added: “Christina has a vast array of knowledge of the auction market; what is popular and what will sell.
“She can see the potential in an item… and I know what needs to be done to fix it!”
