This Morning star Daisy Payne accidentally "spat" on a guest live on air during a chat.

The ITV star and gardener was back on our screens on Tuesday (February 14) live on location from Welford Park in Berkshire to celebrate the country's snowdrops.

As Daisy spoke to the owner of the park, she "spat" on the lady and began wiping the saliva off her coat.

Daisy said: "Sorry about that" before continuing on the conversaton.

However, things turned slightly awkward when an excited Daisy said to the guest "I think I just spat on you".

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “'I think I just spat on you' Why would you admit that on national TV?"

Another added: "'I think I just spat on you' #ThisMorning omg"

A third person said: "And she spits on you #ThisMorning."

While a fourth social media user wrote: "I think I just spat on you #This Morning" alongside laughing faces.

Josie reassured her co-star Daisy that "spraying on people" happens time to time

It wasn't the only part of the show which got viewers talking.

Earlier in the episode, a couple got engaged following a live marriage proposal live on air.

Lovebirds Ella and Dan were enjoying a brunch date at a secret location before a singer and dancers entered the restaurant and broke out into song.

Dan was aware of the plan but Ella was left gobsmacked as he got down on one knee.

With a rendition of Bruno Mars' Marry You being belted out by the entertainer, viewers at home couldn't help but discuss the "cringe" television moment.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "This is so cringe."

Another added: "How embarrassing, poor girl."

A third person said: "I’d want the ground to open up and swallow me!!"

While a fourth wrote: "Never thought it was physically possible for my toes to curl but here we are."

However, some viewers managed to see the romantic side.

Someone else tweeted: "Aww a proposal."
