Tipping Point contestant leaves Ben Shephard wide-eyed with 'sensational' drop against all odds | The Sun

A TIPPING Point contestant left Ben Shephard wide-eyed with a 'sensational' drop against all odds.

On Wednesday's Tipping Point, host Ben introduced three players, Jake, Joanna and Dave.

The new format for the show sees the trio compete in two rounds before one is sent home.

After they all failed to make a big impact on the machine in round one, round two was their Q&A.

Jake, an actor from Essex, managed to get four questions right, but only needed his first counter to blow the competition out of the water.

He managed to get 10 counters from the machine, which was impressive in itself, but he also secured the double counter, taking his winnings to £2000 on one drop.

Jake's mouth dropped open when he saw all the tokens go over the tipping point, before Ben, 47, told him just how rare it was.

A wide-eyed Ben said: "Wow! Jake that's 20 counters across the tipping point in one go. I said there was a big drop coming and that's not bad is it?

"A thousand pounds but the double went as well so we can double it up and give you another thousand pounds.

"You were just one counter off the record as well! 21 counters with the double is the record.

"So you very nearly beat the Tipping Point record, that’s a big drop, it rarely happens, well done!”

Ben went on to say the drop had been sensational as Jake put the rest of his counters in the machine, bagging another £750.

Viewers at home were also impressed, with one writing on Twitter: "Just give Jake the money now and they can all go home #TIPPINGPOINT."

Another added: "Safe to say it's game over #TippingPoint.”

Sure enough, Jake made it to the final round and managed to get £4000 in his prize pot.

He decided not to gamble it on the jackpot token and took the money instead.

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
