Tommy Mallet breaks down in tears as he reflects on near split with Georgia Kousoulou

Tommy Mallet broke down in tears as he reflected on the past year and his near split with fiancée Georgia Kousoulou on Wednesday's final episode of series three of their ITVBe show Baby Steps.

In their latest series, TOWIE's favourite couple have bravely shared how their relationship was pushed to breaking point for the first time in their eight-year relationship.

And after an ultimatum from Georgia, 31, Tommy, 30, who was struggling emotionally and had reached rock bottom, sought help and was diagnosed with severe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Tommy has since realised how the condition has affected him throughout his life and the impact it has had on his loved ones while bravely taking steps to manage his ADHD and rebuild his family.

During the latest instalment, Tommy and Georgia invited all their family over for an early Christmas dinner where they all shared their favourite moment from the past year.

To which an emotional Tommy reflected on how far he had come, he said: "Being able to sit here, I think," the reality star then broke down in tears before adding: "I can't talk about it."

Georgia was quick to comfort her husband-to-be, saying: "He's getting emotional!"

She added in a VT: "Tommy got a bit emotional at dinner, I think it's because he got the realisation that he's changed and I think it hit him that previous years he wouldn't have been able to do that, like sit with everyone."

Tommy's family were quick to applaud his journey as they all clapped, adding: "We're proud of you, really proud of you, you're going to make us even prouder!" with his son Brody even sweetly joining in.

In a VT, Tommy said: "I'm just glad to be here, glad that I got to this stage because it could have got so much worse. If we would've let this go, this wouldn't have been happening. I wouldn't have been sitting there at the table with our families and my kid.

"I just feel like all the emotion that I've not shown over the years, is starting to come out of me. I'm happy with that."

Tommy and Georgia then reflected on the past year together in a different VT with Georgia saying: "I can't believe how we've done a 360 completely. We've gone from being the worst we can be to now ending the year on a positive, on such a high now, did you think that would be possible all those months ago?"

To which Tommy admitted: "No! I wouldn't take anything back now, I think it's definitely been the best few months of my life, even to how close I've got with Brody, I feel like I'm just there. Instead of before, it was just one erratic moment… my whole life was just one big erratic moment.

"You know this time last year, when I sat at the end of that table? It was one of the worst days of my life. It was so hard for me to be able to sit there with everyone and talk. I just couldn't do it but now I sort of lead the table, I can."

With Georgia adding: "There's been a lot of challenges for you but you have got through them."

To which Tommy sweetly pointed out: "If you didn't help me, I'd have been probably ten times worse and with the stress that I've had since then, I'd never have got through, so thank you."

Georgia added: "It had to happen, didn't it? I feel like looking back now, I was so scared to say them words to you and say: 'I think you need to get tested.'

"But when it comes to my family unit, you and Brody, I will do anything and I will take anyone on. I know that next year is just going to be wild, ain't it?

"Obviously, I've got my plan for next year, you know the plan, the baby and then the wedding! This year has been rocky but next year is gonna be wild! I'm excited to go through next year with you already, we've got this!"

Before the series aired, Tommy said: "We’ve always shared our highs and lows with viewers and my diagnosis of severe ADHD has been life-changing. Georgia and I wanted to raise awareness of ADHD and felt it was important to share our story.

"ADHD can often go undetected and there are varying degrees of it but for me, being diagnosed as a 30-year-old adult, it finally all made sense why I behaved in certain ways. Seeking help and managing my ADHD has meant that I’m in a better place to be the best partner and dad possible."

While Georgia sweetly added: "I am so proud of Tommy getting help and I’ve already seen a positive change in him and our family life."
