LEAVE It to Beaver star Tony Dow is still alive, despite his wife believing that he had died.
Dow is under hospice care in his "last hours," according to son Christopher Dow.
"This is a difficult time," Christopher said in a Facebook post. "Yes, he is still alive, but in his last hours; under hospice care."
According to his son, Dow's wife Lauren Shulkind provided his management staff with the "false information."
Dow's wife is "very distraught" and "thought her husband was dead." She later informed Dow's executive group.
Tony Dow is an actor and director best remembered for his part as Wally Cleaver's elder brother on Leave It to Beaver.

Tony Dow was believed to be dead
A statement published on Tony's social media on July 26, 2022, said that the actor had passed away due to health issues brought on by his cancer.
The actor's management staff was alerted by Lauren that he had passed away, and the false information was posted on his official Facebook page, according to TMZ.
When Tony passed away this morning, his loved ones first made the following statement: "It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share with you the passing of our beloved Tony this morning.

Tony's cancer diagnosis
Dow and his wife, Lauren, received devastating news about his medical condition on May 5, 2022, and shared a statement on that day about the diagnosis.
"Unfortunately, Tony has once again been diagnosed with cancer.
"He is approaching this reality so bravely, but it is truly heartbreaking.
"We want to thank you in advance for your caring thoughts," read the statement.
He had pneumonia back in August 2021 and spent a short time in the hospital.

He is a television actor, producer, director, and artist.
Dow is most remembered for his portrayal of Wally Cleaver in the 1957–1963 television series Leave It to Beaver.
According to the New York Post, he served in the National Guard from 1965 to 1968 and went to journalism school in the 1970s.
