This weekend Strictly Come Dancing will draw to a close as one of the remaining contestants will be crowned the champion of this year’s series. Although, viewers can also expect to see some familiar faces in the finale as the stars of this year’s line-up take to the dancefloor once again.
In a recent instalment of ITV’s Lorraine, the host welcomed former Strictly star Tyler West onto the show to speak about the show coming to an end.
Tyler was a firm fan favourite in the competition and shocked the nation when he found himself in the dance-off against Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu in the Blackpool special.
With the judges deciding to save CBBC star Molly instead, Tyler’s time in the show came to an end after his Salsa routine.
However, the radio host is making his return to the dancefloor for Saturday’s finale as Lorraine mentioned he’s off to rehearsals after their interview.
Tyler replied: “I know, I’ve already got a cramp thinking about it, it is bizarre.
“The final’s come around so so quickly, it’s going down this weekend and we all get to come back for a group dance which is amazing.
“That’s where I’m off to after this but each celebrity in the final must be so nervous right now.”
Agreeing that there must be mixed emotions for the remaining stars in the competition, she told Tyler that judge Anton Du Beke thought he should’ve had a place in the final himself.
Thanking him, he highlighted that when he was in the dance-off with Molly, Anton had tried to save him but was outvoted by his fellow judges.
Touching on the anticipated finale, Lorraine questioned how you can pick someone to take home the Glitterball as it’s very difficult.
Tyler replied: “It’s a lot, there’s a lot of dancing that needs to happen on each night as well.
“Each celebrity will dance three times with their professional partner, there’s a routine selected by them, there’s a routine selected by the judges and then there’s their show dance as well.”
Currently. Hamza Yassin and his dancing professional partner Jowita Przystal are at the top of the leaderboard with a combined score of 76 after receiving 39 and 37.
The 32-year-old was tasked with learning two routines for the semi-finals along with the other contestants as he danced the Charleston and Waltz.
At the end of his second performance, he received high praise from the judges as Motsi Mabuse revealed he deserved a spot in the final.
Giving the duo feedback, she said: “For me, you are the man of the night.
“That Waltz, actually we need more of Hamza I would say, more people like Hamza.
“Beautiful, soft, founded, pure, authentic and Jowita and you to watch is just a gift I enjoyed so much.”
Following close behind Hamza are Molly and Carlos who have a combined score of 75 after getting 36 and 39.
The Strictly Come Dancing Final airs Saturday on BBC One at 7:05pm
