Strictly Come Dancing star Tyler West is worried about the condition of his hamstrings following training for this week’s Jive. The DJ aired his concerns on a segment of Wednesday’s episode of It Takes Two, which looked behind the scenes of his and partner Dianne Buswell’s progress.
Tyler told cameras his body was struggling after being put through the wringer after an energetic session ahead of Saturday’s big show.
During the vignette on the Strictly spin-off show, Tyler jokingly complained: “Can we just, like, shorten the routine by like 30 seconds?
“My hamstrings hurt a little bit, the balls in my feet have gone and a little bit in my lower back [too].”
While giving an interview to the Strictly cameras, he declared: “I’m even out of breath standing here now.”

Dianne did warn him of the struggles the Kiss presenter may find with the dance, but she is not relenting in her demands.
The professional dancer remarked: “Jive is not an easy dance to learn, it’s fast and there’s so much energy.”
Despite Tyler’s injury woes his keen partner confirmed: “I wanna keep pushing and pushing and pushing.”
Following their debut dance, they were joint 11th with James Bye and Amy Dowden on the leaderboard.
While on Morning Live, he explained they’re the couple he has his eye on, revealing: “I haven’t got any, like, rivals or anything like that.
“Actually, I’ll tell you what, James Bye. Martin Fowler, he’s always, constantly, trying to get one up on me.”
“He looks at me from across the dance floor, he puts me off. I don’t have any rivals, but he’s a bit of deep competition, I can’t lie.”
The pair danced the American Smooth to Harry Styles’ Falling on the launch show and scored a respectable 22, despite a blunder from judge Shirley Ballas.
A rushed Shirley held a seven on her paddle but a six appeared on TV screens, after a few panicked moments, host Claudia Winkleman sought to clear up the confusion.
The co-host asked: “Okay, we just need to clarify because Shirley held up a seven. We just need to confirm… Shirley? Are you there, hello?”
“I am here!” Shirley replied and Claudia asked: “Okay, do you want the seven?”
Shirley admitted: “I will take the seven, yes, I got muddled up – I was in a bit of a muddle!”
Elsewhere in the ballroom, Will Mellor is the current favourite to lift the Glitterball trophy this year with the bookmakers.
He and Nancy Xu are leading the pack to win the series with odds of 7/4.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes responded to week one: “Will Mellor has caused a shake up in the Strictly betting after a brilliant performance.
“He has knocked Fleur East and Helen Skeleton off the top spot and is now the one to beat as far as the odds are concerned.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.30pm, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
