We were on the Apprentice and got stick for wearing bikinis – but women in business can be sexy | The Sun

THEY made it to the final four on last year’s Apprentice – a history making all female finale.

But despite being incredible businesswoman Brittany Carter and Stephanie Affleck were still called out for sharing bikini pictures on Instagram.

The women, who are proud owners of up and coming companies, admit they find it odd that people think being in business and wearing bikinis are two mutually exclusive things.

Steff, 28, told us: “I find that a weird concept because I don’t think the two things have to be separate, why does someone in business not have to be good looking.”

This year’s Apprentice cast, like Steff and Brittany’s year, are very attractive, but the stars insist that isn’t something Lord Sugar would even consider.

“I don’t think that is the fore focus and I don’t think Lord Sugar cares what somebody looks like, he’s always more bothered about his business acumen,” Steff added.

Brittany, 25, agreed saying: “Every single person who gets into that process has to go through such a vigorous application process, they are the best of the best.

“It’s a shame that people used to judge them by their looks without really getting to know their business acumen.

“If it was like The Voice and you couldn’t see what they looked like, you would be like ‘ok these people are great business people’ and then they turn around.”

Steff admitted the girls had to work hard to be seen for more than their Insta posts, saying: “We got the same thing when we started – saying we looked all Love Island and by the end, when it was the final four girls, it was like ‘they are amazing’.”

Brittany added: “Everyone gets so shocked that people in businesses went on holiday and wore a bikini. It’s like I am running my own business so I can go on holidays- it goes hand in hand.”

They concluded: “You can be in business and be attractive the two aren’t separate things, power is sexy.”

Both Stephanie and Britt wouldn’t change their experience and revealed just how much it’s opened doors for them.

Stephanie is currently in the process of securing investment for her pre-loved children’s clothing business – Little Fashion House – to turn the ever popular brand into the marketplace concept she went onto The Apprentice for.

She said: “It really helps you get a foot in door, before I was emailing companies and couldn’t get noticed by them and then as soon as I finished the programme and was able to say I was an Apprentice finalist, they wanted to have that conversation and that’s so useful.”

Brittany is launching her ‘clean’ energy drink – Oomph – next week after securing investment off the back of the show.

“After the show I found an investor and a mentor, who has helped me launch my business. I have had all those opportunities off the back of the show, which I never would have been able to have before,” she explained.
