Who is Amelia Spencer and who plays her in Emmerdale?
Amelia Spencer is set to be rocked by a cancer scare in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale.
Scenes in the soap will see Amelia confide in Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) that she’s found a lump in her breast.
The discovery sees her confront her own mortality and worry about being around for her daughter, Esther.
After Manpreet immediately refers her to the breast clinic and she receives an immediate appointment, striking fear into the youngster as she breaks down in tears.
The teen hasn’t had it easy during her time in the soap, facing a difficult upbringing and an eventual teen pregnancy that has seen the pair abandoned by the baby’s father, Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).
But who is Amelia, and who plays the popular character? Here’s what you need to know.
Who is Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale?
Amelia Spencer is the daughter of Ali Breckle (Kelli Hollis) and Daz Spencer (Mark Jordon).
However, for the first 11 years of her life, it was believed she was he daughter of Dan Spencer (Liam Fox), Daz’s brother, whom she still refers to as her dad.
When she discovers her real parentage the youngster goes missing, only to be found with Beth (Annabelle Kaye), a manipulative girl she met through chat rooms.
Amelia became a mother at the age of 16 after she gave birth to a baby girl, Esther, whom she shares with Samson after a drunken fling at a house party.
Samson has abandoned the pair, cruelly admitting that Esther means nothing to him despite saving her life.
He has been extorting money from Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) in order to stay away from Amelia and Esther, with his scheme being revealed and an explosive confrontation following that led to him being booted from his home.
Who plays Amelia in Emmerdale?
Amelia is played by actor Daisy Campbell in the show.
Campbell, who was born in Leeds, landed the role when she was just seven years old.
The star recently signed up for another year on the show, revealing that she’d be keen to stay on the serial drama for ‘as long as she can’.
‘I recently signed for another year and couldn’t be happier’ she said.
‘But I never take it for granted because you never know when they might kill you off. It can happen to anyone.’
Daisy has also made an uncredited appearance as Amelia in Coronation Street in 2021, and the Text Santa TV special in 2014
